A founder’s note...

Story Nook Studio began the way many good stories do — in imagination.

For years, I worked as a freelance editor helping writers shape their manuscripts behind the scenes. Most of the projects that came across my desk were nonfiction — entrepreneurship and business books, memoirs, and idea-driven manuscripts. My days were filled with drafts, margin notes, late-night revisions, and long conversations about structure, clarity, and the heart of someone’s message.

And I genuinely loved that work.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about helping someone bring their ideas or life story into the world.

But over time, I started noticing something else tugging at my creative life.

The stories that lit me up most — the ones I found myself thinking about long after I closed the manuscript — were always the ones rooted in imagination. Fiction. The strange and wonderful work of building worlds, shaping characters, and following a story wherever it wants to go.

And the truth is, that’s where my own writing lives, too.

Story Nook Studio grew out of that realization. It marks a shift in my work toward the genre that has always sparked my creativity the most: fiction.

The studio is still built on the same foundation of thoughtful editing and strong storytelling craft — but its focus is now on helping writers develop novels, short stories, and creative nonfiction that is driven by narrative and imagination.

At the same time, I wanted this space to be more than just an editing service.

Writing can be deeply solitary work, but storytelling has always been communal. Stories were meant to be shared, shaped, and encouraged in the company of others. So alongside editing, Story Nook Studio is also an experiment in building a small, supportive creative community for writers who want to grow their craft together.

At its heart, the studio is guided by a few simple values:

  • Stories are living things.
  • Creativity grows in good company.
  • The creative path should feel meaningful — and joyful.

Today, Story Nook Studio offers fiction editing, manuscript workshops, and creative consulting for writers who want to strengthen their stories and connect with other people doing the same brave, strange work of writing.

But more than anything, the studio is meant to be exactly what the name suggests:

  • A little nook for story creation.
  • A quiet place for imagination.
  • And a welcoming corner of the literary world for writers building worlds of their own.

If you’ve found your way here, I’m very glad you did.
